Passionate about Resilience!

Is it possible for a child who was physically and emotionally abused by a mentally unstable mother until age 11 to overcome those obstacles and succeed in life? What if this child went from this home to live with her father, an alcoholic who also grew and smoked marajuana regularly? What are this child’s chances of making it if she was tossed about to several different temporary placements and foster homes before spending her last five years before high school graduation at Presbyterian Children’s Home?

Granted, there are a number of factors that put this teen at risk, but there are also factors that led this teen to resilience. In the midst of so much uncertainty, this teen found a healthy sense of family, friends, and faith. It is these factors that forged a path toward positive change and a brighter future!
